EBF5: Hyper Beam Gifs

Different weapons change quite a lot of animations this time, including huge stuff like Hyper Beam. Also Lance has a handgun now, which also changes color to match his big gun.

Lance and Matt’s animations are done, but I’m gonna do their armor before I post them.

    At least we all like the appearance of gunsword. And since even N has a dagger, it would be strange if L only got a pistol for main weapon.
    Well the handgun is also acceptable if it could look a bit smarter. It would be another nice secondary weapon but the gunsword is absolutely indispensable. It is a symbol to L just like HG to M.

    Just like RNGesus I also hope, that he will be an interesting option for a physical fighter. What his physical capability was lacking is the access to many different elements so that just his Tank Gun was like a stronger “Swift Slash” but without many enemies where the weakness could be exploited dependend on the weapon used.

    While cooldowns could be an interesting thing for magical attacks, could be some more buffing/debuffing effects on physical attacks imaginable? Just like with the Unleash of “Deep Blue” or “Heavy Claw” in EBF3 but with more reliability on other skills and/or a Unleash skill with 100% reliability? Also a selfbuffing “Brave” status could be an interesting addition for particular skills.

    personally, I like the pistol for Lance.

    Now don’t get me wrong, gun-blades are cool cuz anime, but if we are talking about a smart (well tactically at least) and war taut character, there’s no real tactic in a gun-blade bigger than most of Matts swords AND an equally big just shooting gun on his back.

    I’m glad to hear Lance will be a heavy hitting cooldown kinda character now though. In EBF3 Lance was really just a supporting role I didnt do much of anything with, and in EBF4 he wasn’t much better, so to hear he’ll be the groups new heavy hitter while Matt becomes a more constant damage over time role, is something I like to hear!

    I’m just hoping that Lance gets some sort of Power Blast limit break where he pulls out his gunblade and blows the brains out of his foes.

    Quick question: will the Shadow Blaster be Lance’s default gun again? Or are going to make it the Super Snipe again like in EBF3? ❓

    Maybe you can keep the gunblade but set an ammo belt in different color to represent the element of the gun?

    As a old player, I don’t want to the pistol, but the pistol is also beautiful , why not keep gunblade?
    Just let player choose .For example , choose pistol to increase magic attack ,or Choose the gunblade to increase attack.
    I think you can design Lance to make a character who can choose the way which increase magic attack or increase attack.
    And If Lance use the pistol , he use what for self-defense ?

    Please do not change the gun blade into a pistol, gun blade obviously so handsome, and that is a unique symbol of Lance ah 🙁

    Was going to talk about the gunblade,, but it looks like everyone’s said it already. 😐 Hopefully it will return for a particular attack or two? (Unload plox) Or maybe with a particular weapon. The thing is too cool and impractical to lose!

    I’m also glad that Lance is going in that direction balance-wise. Always loved unload, hyper beam, etc.

    These are amazing! One thing I’ve been wondering for a while, will there still be Specials like in EBF 4 that more than one can learn? I’m hoping you say yes, cuz Lance was always my healer with the red mage-y stuff and Natalie was full-on black mage. Also, speaking of which, how will healing work with cooldowns? Can you only heal once every few turns and have to heal with items in between that time? I noticed there was more than Natalie’s heal and healmore skills in the last one, like Anna’s refresh and Lance’s medipack.

      Yeah, but not as much of them this time.
      Cooldowns mean you can’t spam the same attack – so it’ll be used for the strongest moves and a lot of the buffs/heals.

        Oh, I see. I really like the effort and amount of unique things you’re putting into this one, it’s really gonna stand out compared to the others. I mean, I loved 1-4, but this one will be the most original when compared to other JRPGs. Keep up the good work! :bacon: :yay: Also, the whole thing about the gunblade is stupid. I mean, it was a sort of signature piece, but I never used it. Plus, he’s a gunner, so there would be no point in giving him a Squall rip-off when he can have two guns instead. That match colors! Woot. :yay:

    I like this matching handgun idea, but it only seems like half a fix to the thing that bugged me all thru EBF4- That the weapon you equip Lance with is sitting on his back by default and most of the time 😐

    i like the new animations. aww i liked the old gun sword, but i was thinking that you should have it changed based on his cannon so that part is good. also if he doesn’t have a gun-sword but just a normal revolver does that mean his normal attack will be him just shooting his gun twice?

    the beams look cool enough, but the pistol is just like nothing compared to gunblade. Yea gunblades are not really usable in real fight, but anime…just gunblades are more awesome then pistols.

    God damn this is really pleasing to look at. Those news guns and his little shuffling animation are awesome too!

    Something I saw you mention – you said you were thinking about Lance being a heavy-hitter, with cooldowns to compensate. Does this mean he’ll have more attacks like Hyper Beam which require charging too?

        Are you going to make his physical attacks worth using?

        Double Shot, Snipe, and Unload are fun skills to use (especially with on-attack procs) but they’re pretty useless in EBF 4 since Lance’s magic attack stat ends up being like 3x as much as his attack stat by the late game.

        Even Flameshot does more damage than Unload by level 50.
