Bullet Heaven 2 trailer!

First attempt at making a trailer for Bullet Heaven 2.
What do you think?

I’m still working on it, but it’s gonna end up looking similar to this.

I think the trailer is good.
BTW, I have an idea. How about adding exclusive features for users who have EBF4?(like characters, weapons, skins, etc.)

And in response to your question on twitter (don’t use twitter) about voicing the trailer, I feel like that’d be hit or miss.

The music is definitely good, and kinda soothing to be able to just listen to that instead of someone talking. Not to mention the game itself doesn’t have any verbal dialog, yet tons of good music.

The problem I felt with EBF4’s trailer dialog wasn’t the dialog itself or the voice, those were fine, but the voice directing and the way it ‘flowed.’ When the guy spoke for the trailer, it felt stilted, awkward, and unnatural. Like he read off each line from a script, one part at a time, instead of a natural flow if you were to read it one right after another.

If you do voice acting again, I’d recommend having the script in the trailer so that each line is spoken right after another, so it sounds like a natural progression from one feature to another. When a part comes to an end where you want us to just enjoy the game play shown, make sure the voice ends in a natural way. That way it doesn’t just stop abruptly and feel like there is more they are about to say.

Having the person voicing see the video first would probably help a lot, as it would give them an idea of how to say each line.

Sorry for the two walls of text.

      Thanks for the feedback!
It’s less work not to have a voiceover, so I’ll probably go without this time.

Definitely a big step up from the EBF 4 trailer. I feel like you could just leave the text there without anyone voicing over.

I thought it was a very good WIP. The song fitting for the video as well.

The trailer showed off a good amount of game play and showed off all of the key features, as well as showing a good example of the difference between casual, hard, and heavenly difficulty. So that was done well.

Maybe mention the multiple methods of playing the game, ie. mouse, keyboard, or joystick?

The amount of counter bombs was an interesting choice to have in the video. Not necessarily bad, just interesting.
If you wanted to show off how crazy it’d get, and prove it was a bullet hell, the best way I imagine you could do that is just have the screen cut from a scene of a ton of bullets and a player getting hit, to another to another to another, without a lot of hang time between each scene, even speeding up the transition time between each scene even. This would give people the idea of some of the craziness they could expect.

The counter bomb at the end though, against the heavenly eye, was very well done and was a great finisher to the video.

One last thing I think you could do; at the end, when the “EBF4.4: Bullet Heaven 2” logo is in the middle of the screen, I think it would be kinda cool to have the background transition from one boss battle to another as the time goes by. As it is now, its cool having the Ballos boss fight in the background, but it’d be even cooler to have it cycle through from one scene to another. Just an extra thought.

Hope there is at least one good idea you can get from all this. Either way, well done, and I can’t wait to get it on steam.

“Friends required, not included”, I’ve never seen a better sales pitch for couch multiplayer.

This is actually pretty nice! Shows the gameplay how it really is, with a nice touch of humour!
Can’t see how you can improve it, being honest. :yay:
