EBF5: Options

The options menu is almost done!
New stuff here includes:
• Content filters let you turn off stuff you don’t want to see (like anime titties while you’re at school)
• The language can now be changed without needing to restart the game (should make testing much easier)
• Some slightly more modern resolutions (Steam only)
• Tooltips to explain some of the options to you!

I haven’t decided what languages I’m doing yet, but Chinese will almost certainly be one of the new ones. (Don’t ask to volunteer, it’s still a long time away. Will be the last thing I work on.)

Also the game switches between mouse and keyboard for walking automatically now, which is helpful.

Is there any way to add another language?
If Chinese could be possible, I need translation-tool or something like that to translate Japanese.
    Thanks.

Add more languages will be very easy for me – I’ve got everything in seperate text files.

Do you think you could add a reset button for medals in the game? Whenever I complete the game I always like to comeback after a bit for a refreshing experience. :smirk:

It may be worth it to put some time into a translation app, so enthusiastic people could popularize the game in their countries (and launch it some time after the game release to avoid spoilers). I would gladly participate in Russian translation in any form.

P.S. You have put a solid UK flag icon by the word “English” (the home country for the language, perfectly fine), but then there’s a Brazil flag by the word “Português” (instead of Portugal flag). Sry, got triggered. ❗

It’s Brazilian Portuguese! (which is even listed separately on Steam, so I guess there’s some difference :P)

Probably the same reason that lots of people put a US flag next to the English option: it’s by far the largest nation in the world that speaks the language.

Can you add another difficulty level above Epic (250%, maybe call it Impossible)?

Something to really provide a challenge, sometimes even Epic is too easy.

Have you tried avoiding optional fights? Just being one or two level lower can change an easy boss fight into a very difficult one.

Can you make the fullscreen resolution be the same as the desktop resolution like you did with the Steam version of EBF3? That would allow us to choose any resolution rather than being locked to the few ones that the game has.

Well in EBF3 is just stretches the window to fullscreen basically – the game doesnt run at the desktop resolution. I’d like to do that again but it depends on exactly what features Adobe adds to Flash in the next year or so.

Just wondering, but can you have the menus control with the keyboard too? It’s kinda annoying to be using the keyboard to move and have to change for the battles.

Have to say I randomly remembered these EBF games and how fun they were, and was wondering when EBF5 is going to come out, did a little google search and this page is the first that came up.. So awesome that you’re working on it and not abandoned it!!
Is it going to be out in Steam? Any dates?!

Trying to be as least demanding as I can but I’m really interested about this.

So glad that there’s going to be more options than just the minimal volume and 3-tier quality buttons. :yay:
