Recently finished playing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and I loved the backgrounds so much that I had to draw some of the trees for practice.
Making sure EBF5 has more interesting trees than EBF4. Cause I know that’s what the fans want more than any other feature.

I love the sketch! But why do it on lined paper? I think it doesn’t give to trees the proper look to have faint blue lines coming out of them. But maybe you’ve only got access to lined paper. I highly encourage you get blank white paper for future sketches.
The lines can actually be of great help at times. Especially is you’re trying to make something level/symmetrical. But by the looks of it, the drawing was probably an idle doodle that people like to draw sometimes. Who knows the mind of Matt better than Matt though? Who knows why he did it that way.
What kind of paint tool do you use to color your sketch ❓

Word to the wise. As awesome as both the news and the EBF series are, just remember this: Very often, great expectations lead to great disappointment. If you are to expect anything, expect that Matt may decide to do something… spontaneous. He very obviously hasn’t emptied his bag of tricks yet! So bring it! Show us what you’ve got!
On a side note, I like the sketches. Who knew trees’d be so cool to look at?
EBF5 CONFIRMED! OMG OMG OMG! This more than makes up for accidentally cutting my finger peeling potatoes. Can’t have the good without the bad 🙂 NOW FOR EPIC HYPE TRAIN! Also is the blue haired girl in BH2 a new char in EBF5, like Anna was in BH1 and EBF4?
You mean Phyrnna? She’s the music composer for most of the EBF songs, and she’s great at her job if I do say so myself :hurray:

EBF5 CONFRIMED! Can’t wait to see what the bosses are like in this game! Also, I love Donkey Kong country tropical freeze! I was even so pro at this game that I even unlocked hard mode by doing all 6 temple levels and beating world 7! The hardest temple level to do was the one in world 2! When I did this the first time, I died 30 times! The bosses were awesome, with my favorite being the polar bear at world 5! But my biggest negative about this game was that the final boss was a big disappointment! Ever since the Aoura unit 313 insistent in Metroid prime 3(you know, the worst concept for a final boss to end the trilogy), Retro ware made nothing but disappointing or subpar final bosses. That includes the final boss of Donkey Kong country returns and tropical freeze! But I got to say, I love those tree designs!
Yeah, that 2nd temple level was tough. I’ve got a few secret levels left to do.
I never thought I would care much about what trees looked like in games as long as they were ok. Now I see how interesting they can be.
