Here’s what BH2 currently looks like. This is the resolution I’ll be using for the web version (800×600).
The border artwork is currently from EBF4, but I’ll get some original artwork in there later, and give the player some options for it.
The background is just a bunch of falling leaves, that go faster the further you get into the level. It’s just a particle effect. I think it looks pretty cool, and isn’t as distracting as you might think. The best thing about it is that’s it’s incredibly easy to do, so I can actually make a unique background for every level without too much work!
The slightly rotated slime looks like it’s shielded. It might actually be funny to have shielded foes stopping your bullets and returning them to you (at much slower speed). Would give reason to stop shooting or avoid shooting at times, same as exploding foes that you fail to kill on purpouse in endless mode in BH1. The shielded foes could maybe also try to grab shield bonuses dropped buy others to extend their shield time.
I can also picture a maze like cluster of bombs with a dead end and a shield bonus at the end. You’d have to maneuver without shooting , grab the bonus and start the firework.
In BH1, you have
player,foe, good shield, bonus,good bullet, bad bullet, bomb wind.
collisions are
player/foe, player/bonus, player/ bad bullet.
foe/good bullet.
shield/ bad bullet
bad bullet/bomb wind.
What could be new :
– foe/bonus : have ennemies that can grab bonuses
– Neutral bullet from exploding ennemies. (player/neutral,foe/neutral) Could set impressibe looking chain reactions.
– Neutral foes : inert solid objects like stones that could hit players and foes.(player/neutral foe, neutral foe/foe, good bullet/neutral foe). (stones that split when hit for example.)
– bad shield for ennemies (bad shield/good bullet).
150 Multiplier? That’s a LOT of points.
Hmmm I better start on BH2 fanart since I was planning to do so before but it depends since im not to sure if the characters are going to get a new look or if the gang is gonna look the same from the previous BH… :bleh:
