Here’s a demo of what I’ve made so far. I’m especially proud of how the boss turned out.
You can’t die, and the scoring system isn’t finished, but otherwise it should be quite similar to what the final game will feel like. You can also test out the difficulty settings.
Keep in mind that the first version of the game will be for mobile, hence the tall resolution and simple controls.
Here’s an Android version you can install. You should choose Touch controls when playing on a mobile device. You can’t quit or pause the game yet, so you might have to use the application manager to close it.
Either way, I’m interested to hear what framerates you guys get, and how you find the difficulty levels.
:bleh: I can’t discharge the awesome movile version :shades: I’m playing on a friend’s computer :smirk: :yay: :hurray: :bacon: :bacon: :coffee: :coffee: :phone2: :phone: :phone: :skull: :stars:  :love2:
Awesome ❗ cool demo if i have too. :bacon:
I’m just wondering; will this game be released to iOS? ❓
Also, my FPS stayed pretty nice, around 60 all the time at normal Went down to 50 in hard, and at Heaven, around 50 too. The difficulties were nice, and I got -6000 score at Heaven. :ooo:
Not sure yet, but probably eventually.
plz can you make EBF5?
That moment when you try to go to the top of the screen to instantly collect all of the items, and then nothing happens. xD
Holy… I was enamored with the first game’s impressive bullet patterns but seriously…
This is amazing… so… pretty…
And this is a PROTOTYPE. of the FIRST AREA.
I think this is just so freaking cool.
i really liked this version of the game, i had smooth fps the entire time on my pc, can’t try it out on my phone yet though :/ anyways, i would really like to see this game on the PC as well, not only on the phone as i think this kind of game would suck to play on a small screen, and i have a really small phone xD great work though, keep it up! :hurray: :hurray: :stars:
por favor façam uma versão para o windows phone :smirk: :smirk: :smirk:
PT-BR
Ran perfectly for me, getting a consistent 60 FPS.
Gameplay-wise, this felt much more like Touhou to me than the original, and I like that.
40-60 fps on all 3 Difficulties.
played on windows-PC
framerate: 59-61 all the time
difficulty works perfect for me
coin collecting sound is annoying, very … screaky
(nearly) perfect framerates (i love it till now pretty and challenging)
really loved the first game and I can say I spend hours playing ,and winning, it however this game is also made extremely well but is the hit box larger. also the glow effect on the 3rd or 4th stage of the boss is really off putting although I know you love to make things look nice. hope you will e-mail me because I will probably not check back, hope to hear from you asap :shades:  :hurray:
Okay, so afger trying it out a few times:
Dificutly: nice with the ways it get’s harder.
Framerate:
Durign easy and normal a constant 50 – 60 for free time and 40 – 50 with all bullets works good.
For heaven though. I had hardly any issue. but during the purpel waves of the boss (the one iwht the flowers and all, as well as the one before that) the game started lagging every now and then, fallign to about 20 fps.
Not sure what you take fo that but I hope you can use it 😀
I enjoyed it very much. I was kinda thinking to myself, “Good grief, how much health does this boss have?!” :yay:
My frame-rate was very smooth, I didn’t really catch the numbers, though. It skipped a frame here and there when the bullet spam started getting heavier, but other than that it ran perfectly. :stars:
Can’t wait to see the full version. Perhaps it will have hints to the next Epic Battle Fantasy game, like the previous Bullet Heaven? :smirk:
I played on normal. I got a pretty good 59-60 frame rate. I think the game handles really good, but if you could add like a focus thing where you could make the character move slower so that maneuverability would improve, that would be awesome. Otherwise the game is great. :yay:
I can safely say that I had 60 fps as the average. Difficulty wise, I was able to survive as long as I concentrated. Boss wasn’t too hard or too easy, and if he’s the first, I’m REALLY looking forward to how the other ones can get!
Visuals were awesome. I almost got hit because I was getting distracted by the boss’s firing patterns. The symmetry at one point was like a trip or something. :stars:
My PC is able to stay above 55 FPS most of the time. I personally find that a more interesting number is the number of frames dropped. Of course, starling doesn’t drop frames by default… :bleh:
I notice that the draw count can swing rather wildly. Are you using separate textures for each bullet type? Condense a few things.
I’m not using Bitmapped text for the score numbers yet, that’s where the draw is coming from.
Usually ran at about 60 fps. Slight lag spike down to about 50 fps when enemies came in or faded out. The bullets don’t seem to be an issue in this part. When the boss came the fps stayed at 60, until the screen was almost entirely filled with bullets. then it quickly dropped to about 17 fps. this was in power saving mode. While not in power saving mode it ran at 60 fps. Dropped to ’bout 55 when enemies came/faded out. On the boss it stayed at 60 but dropped to 39 when the screen was filled with bullets.
Controls felt good though. Have you thought of a good way to activate specials?
Samsung Galaxy S3
(Same guy as above post)
Ran at 60 fps at every setting. Even in power saving mode on my laptop where other games, mainly flash, tend to lag quite alot.
Sony Vaio pro 13
i7 4500U
Intel HD 4400
4 GB RAM
128 GB SSD
Running in Opera Next
3 month old comp.
60 fps for the whole game in heaven difficulty.. Holy shit, heaven difficulty was actually very difficult ! I like it ! Thanks for making a hard bullet hell game !
Same as Arcterran, graze really confused me, thought i get hit every time. Bullets dissapearing after wave were kinda making it too easy. But on my new high end laptop – 59.9 fps on every mode.
Awesome! Framerate was never under 40 on my laptop and the difficulty levels are great – a reason to go back and replay levels that I never really had in BH1. Is there any reason that most of the sprites (Anna and foes) were low-res?
As far as I managed to look at the frame rates, I didn’t see it drop under 40 fps. It ran at 60 quite often during the boss fight, but during the level, it didn’t really get there too often. It wasn’t really noticable in gameplay though, everything ran smooth. This was on a laptop with I5 core, 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM memory. It may also be worth noting that I only played normal and heaven mode for this.
Concerning the game: I can’t wait for this to come out :yay: It all felt nice, and the fact that enemies explode into bullets in heaven mode definitely added a lot of fun for me. The bullet patterns with the boss were also really interesting. And then I didn’t mention the graphics yet, which are also amazing as (bullet?) hell. Keep being awesome like you already are!
Every difficulty at 60 fps almost all the time, never dropping below 40 fps.
1.90 GHz quad core, 8 GB RAM, 2 GB video card.
Bosses are going to be realy hard without attack upgrades.
Looks realy good :stars: . Waiting for more previews (and of course the final game).
That was a great demo. The battle with the Big Bush reminds me of Adventure Story, when the first boss, when received damage at first, got angrier, but later, weaker.Anyway,it was fun though :smirk:
I tried playing on my phone. It’s a Samsung Ace 2.
The game is running smoothly at first, but get into major lags ( between 0.1 and 1 fps) when enemies appears or disappears. Bullets don’t seems to be the problem.
I have Galaxy Ace 2 as well and I have no problems…
Neat that with the touch controls I don’t need to drag the character, but rather simulate its movement.
Look so amazing!
The FPS had some drops to 30 but almost the time was between 50-60 in heaven difficult… And the glow of the bullets increasing when we are close of then remember me a game were you can still close to bullets for some bonus :hurray:
Playing on the same laptop, no mouse. It controls fine, albiet It would certianly be nice If I had my mouse. Framerate averages around 57 FPS. Half the time I was scrolling up and down so I could see FPS and stuff XD
For some reason hard ran a bit faster (59 FPS average) Looked buttery smooth to me, It’s a little overwhelming but not unmanageably so.
Heaven mode averaged around 58 FPS, aaannnddd I won’t be playing on that :scared: I’m sure it’s beatable, I just don’t have the skills
Touch seems more managable so far with this touchpad….though this was just on normal
Played hard and YES it’s more managable, however every time I get grazed I keep thinking I’m getting hit (I assume that’s what’s going on)
Well no need to be scared if I’m playing touch on this laptop if i don’t have a mouse, I’d probably die quite a few times but It’s not insanley difficult.
Other than graze kind of throwing me off, I’ve got nothing further to report on this
❓ where’s iOS demo?
Worked perfectly. It looks very promissing. :yay:
Using a relatively new Toshiba Chromebook (I don’t know specs), I was able to get 60 frames per second at all difficulties with no problem.
Can’t wait until the full version is released
Working well, runned at smooth 60 fps, the enemies exploding in bullets in heaven difficulty had a bigger effect than i first expected and made it really hard to dodge everything.
Easy – 60 Fps
Normal – 60 Fps
Hard – 60 Fps
Dual core 2.8 Ghz
2Gb Ram
1gb Graphic card
:smirk: :stars:
I had on average about 35 fps, it never dropped below 29. Excellent for a laptop that is six years old. The level feels a bit on the easy side with a mouse, but I can’t tell anything about the touch version. There was that awkward feeling of seemingly having only half of the screen. Looks like a promising game :yay:
Update about my previous comment: For some reason the game had not loaded properly the first time and I was confined to the upper left quarter of the game screen (hence my comment about half a screen lol). It fixed itself once I posted the previous comment. That did not affect my fps though. I’m finding this rather easy (now after proper evaluation lol), stats for the level: 112/119 foes; 216/246 coins; 32 graze; 0 hits
