EBF5: Secret Foes

Made 7 secret foes today, at least one of which is an ultra super cool boss.
Too bad it’s going to be a long time until anyone gets to see them.

EBF5 current foe count: 66

In case anyone hasn’t noticed, there’s a glitch dimension outside the Iron Fortress, and inside it’s possible to find a glitch boss. It heals from all elements. If it’s taking the form of a slime it also heals from anything physical, the form of a metal idol it heals from anything magic. It’s accompanied by three weak gold flying fish that don’t launch their rockets on death. Scanning is useless as you can’t look at information in the first place. Your ability to see stats changes every time an animation plays.

So i did find one secret! an odd glitch room in the broken tower area of the military base, where the cultist was. i found it after getting the boat and heading there for other things. A new enemy was a gray pixel, the form of a metal idol, but pixelated. there was also a enemy fighting with three gold fish. whenever the enemies attacked, shroud was kind of put out randomly, and the enemy was a glitch, maybe an allusion to the Glitch boss from the computer room in EBF4? it’s main body appearance is glitchy, morphing. it has a mud slime appearance but changes to other creatures as it gets hit. :wut: :wut: :wut: the only way i could damage it was from the machine guns ability, which killed it in two turns.

I think it would have been better for you not even to bring it up at all, in foe counters or posts or anything. Then we wouldn’t know anything about their existence until we encountered them in the game. It would certainly bring down suspense, and make fighting them more exciting, at least for me.

Trying to hide an ultra secret cool boss is hard… So hard maybe not to spoil it to anyone you’d have to hide it from yourself…….
Did you hide it from yourself?
Do you know what it is?
    Do you know it’s name?
Do you know how it was created?
    Oh no.
    NOT EVEN YOU KNOW.

An ultra super cool boss, huh?
Didn’t realize we were going to have to fight you, Mr. Roszak. Kek.

A lot of speculation on the boss above, and much of it seems to be repeats. All I can say/add is that I hope it is completely new to the EBF series.

If I could make a suggestion, I hope it is Spider Bee from Bullet Heaven 2. I know you had a lot of fun with that one, and I don’t think we’ve had a BEE BOSS in the series proper. I think that could make an interesting boss fight, too. Incorporating those honeycomb shields it used in-game and maybe even have some moves that called back to Bullet Heaven (ie: Curtain Fire-looking moves). Just some thoughts. :shades:

They could be in a secret area like in EBF3 , but you need to complete different missions to get in there instead of medal quantity
    :wut:

Ooh! That would be nice actually. Doing all that medal chasing in EBF3 was kind of a pain in the butt.

The only boss I can think of is a rocky one, with crystals on it. Excited to see what you came up with!

I’m not sure that you will answer, but will it be in secret area like the Glitch from EBF4 was, or like the medals rooms of EBF3? I liked it, but I was missing a single medal, so I never saw the last room…
