EBF5: Hands

I made the hands I sketched a few months ago!
Not all hands will be able to use all weapons, and not all weapons can be used for all attacks. These hands are another foe that will exploit your elemental weaknesses.

    Hey Matt, just to let you know, you can kinda see the finger for like a split second, nothing important, but still, for that non-pervert/rudeness mode, you might want to fix it.
    I confirmed this by managing to kill it before the label popped up, and I saw the finger. It was hilarious. :yay:
    So hyped for the game, and the music.

    I gotta HAND it to the guy who made this monster design. They really went out on a LIMB for these creations. However, I don’t wanna FINGER the blame on anyone, but I feel we could have gotten more detail out of this, considering we live in the DIGITal era and all. Still I think they hit the NAIL on the head for the CUTICLE aspects of this creature. But it looks like very creative creatures are being made, so I better KNUCKLE down and get to work on my design. I’m not the best artist, though, so I’m not sure I wanna even WRIST entering this competition.

    I noticed that after the physical attacks, when the hand pops up on their side of the field, the weapon it holds has changed. Is this a thing the hands will have (rotating weapons) or are they suppose to have one weapon per hand or is that part of the elemental weakness component?

    Another really cool new enemy, so I take it their offence is decided by their weapon, but their defense is decided by the hand type, at least as far as elemental strengths/weaknesses? Really cool concept there, definitely like what I’m seeing so far! :yay:

    Just curious. You’ve mentioned units that have AI that target weaknesses. In the last two games, very few armors or weapons gave you any elemental weaknesses. Primarily all the ones I used gave me a lot of resistances, leaving only a few elements that I wasn’t protected from, but also not ‘weak’ to.

    I am wondering if in this game you are going to give most armors both resistances and weaknesses? It’d definitely make armor choices more interesting and matter much more if it they all gave trade-offs.

    Also, any other ideas for AI types? I didn’t even know there was AI in the past games, it seemed like most just did random attacks or,in the case of a healer unit, spammed healing. Are you going to try and give a few enemies, primarily bosses, a lot more skills/powers that they will be able to utilize to random strategies? Or perhaps monsters that work best in teams, like an enemy that can aggro your players, or primarily casts the right debuffs on the right units?

      I’ll try to make equips more interesting, so that’s one way of doing that I suppose.
      Past games had no AI. New AI ideas are: target weakness, target healer, target attacker, target lowest HP, etc.

    I’d like to see a animation where those hands burst through their enemies with a shark fin style. I mean that only the blade stands outside the ground.
    Anyways, I like them.

    Reminds me of Kleever from Donkey Kong Country 2! Really cool. I especially love the idea of having them switch weapons and targeting weaknesses. Though something I would’ve preferred is them getting stabbed by their own sword when they die. Course it wouldn’t make sense for when they’re using hammers and axes.

    Really cool concept 😀 might be a good idea to lead to a boss as well :shades: like, you only see the hands, but then theres a boss dude that has all these hands or something…. idk
    looks great, the only flaw is that some of the weapons don’t go with every attack, but fun concept, nice heal thing.

    Hm, so it looks like their attack power is based entirely on whatever weapon they’re holding (well, not entirely, I guess the specials might be related to their form) so the hand itself is mostly just for weaknesses and base stats is my guess.
