BH2: Hovercraft Preview

This guy turned out a lot better than I thought he would. I wasn’t too happy with the look of the tank, but his attack patterns turned out quite pretty, and the game definitely needed more blue.

A lot of his patterns are quite easy once you learn the “trick” to them, but they’re very punishing if you haven’t seen them before.

    I suggest making the HP bar of the bosses on the top of the screen. A bit more out of the way.

      I think that’s how it was in bh1…
      It certainly is better that way, so not quite sure why Matt placed these where he did…
      Think he said it’s just placeholders or something… i don’t remember exactly

    Gaaah, I can’t wait to play as HFX! :stars:

    On a not so relevant note, could there be a mode, where 2 players fight each other? Sort of like Touhou – phantasmagoria of flower view.

      That idea makes sense, since the players can shoot and dodge stuff, but only if you remove bombs. You could even toss in random enemies to create chaos and bonus pick-ups.
      Also, the trick to dodge is to pass through intersection point of two waves when it is “open”.

      The tank having yellow lights contrasts with blue color of its projectiles, therefore: a) make tank’s lights blue to remove color conflict; b) add yellow color to tank’s projectile patterns to harmonize colors (yellow and blue); c) make everything yellow to remove color conflict; d) it’s fine as it is, and some of the patterns are going to be yellow, but not the ones shown, and I just haven’t seen those yet. :meh:
